   It was during my 4 years of studies, I was awarded the "Owens scholarship" by retired Norman G. Owens, then President of the Owens Yacht Company and supporter of Westlawn, with the Honorary title "OWENS SCHOLAR".
          The Owens Scholar award was based on "Excellence in the study of Small Craft Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, based on both academic achievement, creative ability and on design presentation".
                                             In Westlawn's 75 years of history, only six Owen Scholars have been honored with the award.

We design timber boats, plywood boats, strip plank boats, fibreglass composite boats, steel and aluminum boats to very modern styling for both monohull designs or multihull designs, powerboat or sailboat and in round bilge, multi-chine or radius chine hull forms.

The OceanSky 57 catamaran voted BEST MULTIHULL DESIGN for 2007 , the only multihull to get into the TOP TEN (Cruising World Magazine)
