We have boat plans (both yacht designs, catamaran designs and power designs) for all sizes. From the 12ft Mushulu Dinghy stitch & glue yacht tender to the Oceansky 57 catamaran. We design timber boats, plywood boats, strip plank boats, fibreglass composite boats, steel and aluminum boats to very modern styling for both monohull designs or multihull designs, powerboat or sailboat and in round bilge, multi-chine or radius chine hull forms.
Mushulu 14 Construction
The requirement of the Mushulu 14 was simple. It had to be light, quick to build, easy on the pocket, and yet still retain its strength, seaworthiness and performance. The Mushulu 14 is built of Marine plywood Sandwiched in epoxy, and directional E-glass fabrics using the Stitch & Tape method, the overall design results in a stronger, tougher and more durable "Composite" boat, while still retaining its lightweight construction.
The forward and rear seat compartments, not only doubles as a buoyancy compartment, but also a storage compartment. The spacing between the aft seating arrangement and the middle seating arrangement is 1076mm (42"or 3ft-6in), providing ample leg room and 889mm (35")between the middle and forward seating. For those long days out fishing, seating width needs to be comfortable. With the Mushulu 14, the seating width is 346mm (14") in width!
Overall, the Mushulu 14 is lighter and can be built for just a fraction of that of a purchased alloy boat of similar dimensions.

The following list of materials is approximate and intended for calculation of approximate costs. We offer no guarantees of accuracy.
The list is for all timber in the construction of hull, deck and interior, including building stocks, temporary bracing etc. Allowance has been made in the quantities for about 10% wastage.
These figures allow for building with 1/4" (6mm) & 3/8" (9mm) Meranti, Hoop pine or Gaboon plywood for the hull and interior.
